Tightlines Sportsfishing has both Washington and Oregon
Charter licenses. This allows me to fish all marine waters
in both states. Springtime means the Lower Columbia River
for the best eating salmon in the world. Columbia River Spring
Chinook Fishing is excellent from late March though the middle
of May.
June through mid-August is Puget Sound time. This is a great fishery. The Sound
is perfect for out-of-town guests on business trips with its close proximity
to downtown Seattle.
Puget Sound and the lower Columbia are fished out of a 26' Osprey. It will handle
up to 6 guests. We only mix trips up to four persons. Puget Sound fishing is
done out of Des Moines Marina. It is located less than 10 minutes from Sea-Tac
Airport. We fish mostly in area II which has the most liberal limits on the Sound.
Fish can be processed right in the City of Des Moines.
The waters of Puget Sound are salt water but there are no ocean swells. Occasionally
high winds will make fishing difficult and less enjoyable. This is rare but it
can cause a cancellation.
Mid-August
is time for Lower Columbia Salmon, Kings and Silvers.
This is as close to surefire salmon action as it gets. Many large
Kings and Silvers. Mid-September through October is Garibaldi,
Oregon Ocean & bay fishing. These are the finest fall
Kings on the whole West Coast. These fish averaged 26
pounds last year. This year there will be more of the 5 year olds,
which means 30 to 50 pounders. This is a great fishery
with days already filling fast.
