Tight Lines: Columbia River
Booking now for: Tillamook Bay Kings and Olympic Peninsula Winter Steelhead
Late March marks the start of the Columbia River Spring Chinook Salmon Runs. These are the best eating salmon in the world. This year 300,000 are predicted over the Bonneville Dam.
We start the season fishing out of the quaint Marina in Cathlamet. This is the lowest point these fish are taken on the Columbia. Later I move to the Camas-Washougal area.
Fishing for these Springers can range from fast and furious to just grinding it out. As mentioned earlier these Salmon are unlike any other you have eaten.
May and early June is Sturgeon time. These are another excellent eating fish. When it is “on” 30 or 40 fish may be boated. This is also a very good family fishery.
We specialize in Northwest Steelhead Fishing and Seattle Salmon Fishing.
